HAPPY PEOPLE...Mission Update...muggy heat

Half of the crowd has left so I asked for a picture or two….

Greetings,

I do not know about where you are at but it has been so muggy out I can barley breath the air is so hot and think….of course this also bring lots of people in to escape the heat etc…

I cannot believe how hungry some of these folks are eating 3 and 4 egg sandwiches…but it's very good protein for them…they also get cold tea and coffee…

Today my wife is serving hot dawgs and beans, a favorite of the folks that come here.

A question that comes up over and over is just how much does it take per meal? Good question, it depends on what thinsg we have already around…today I spent the last of what I had for Friday in which they will get a great pasta meal but I spent roughly $80…but I had some of the sauce for Friday…basically we spend a $100 a meal, sometimes more sometimes less but that is very close…so just for the 4:30 PM meal it comes out to around $1,000 a month…because we end up doing a meal or two at a time so it costs more when you buy like that….This does NOT count the bread, the eggs, we do 8-15 dozen sandwiches of eggs a day….

Summer is so hard as donations drop though the floor till about the 2 week in September…so I am clearly ready for summer to be gone….

We are also right now dealing with being one vehicle short, but we deal with rough times and well are used to it, it's hard but we get to serve a wonderful FATHER AND SON, so bring it on devil…we have been doing this now wow in our 20^th year…..We are praying for a bail-out if you will…we could really use some help today…so
