10But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
11For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. 12Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. 13But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: 14And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. 15And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. 16Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
17And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. 18And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
21So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.22And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
23And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

I shall try and be as accurate as I can as at 67 my memory plays so tricks on me sometimes J
Let's start my wife who is the real star of Thanksgiving (as blessed by Yahweh) started all months ago deciding that we are or rather she is going to be able to feed 200 people at Thanksgiving...Yes it's our busiest day of the year for the Mission Church..but we have never did 200, unless of course you count that most Thanksgivings we would do Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday! This year the count was 180- so I asked her what was the record she replied "this year"
Since Covid our feeding team has been My Wife 60 (mom most call her), my 21 year old son, and I 67....yep 3 of us...but we cannot forget that there has always or most always been a kitchen helper, generally one of my two daughter-in-laws, and now a friend whom is 77 years old is now that kitchen helper..Yes in the summer we have some grandchildren come and help maybe one day a week and generally at serving time....we also have a brother now 60, the same age as my wife, helps outside with my son Elijah by giving out coffee, bags, etc BUT this year he was sick....,he also generally comes on Wednesday as others do to prep for Thanksgiving a very big deal as deserts need put in to go containers, dressing is made from scratch and cooked, green bean casserole needs made also from scratch! And this year there was even 70 pounds of potatoes that needed cut up and some cooked! That's not to even bring up the rolls that need buttered or little things like olives mad ready.....OH and angel eggs ( some call them deviled)
So how do we manage cooking so much food on our little non commercial stove (wow what a blessing it would be to have a real gas commercial stove!) well she (mom) has several people and a small Messianic Group that she recruits to donate turkeys and debone them, what they do not cook my son and his wife whom live across the street from us cook the rest well sometimes by wife does have to cook extra at the Mission church for Friday!
In advance she has to decide the menu and pray it in....yep the funds for this dinner are not just there, oh like the pies I almost forgot about we get some donated by others but mostly from the efforts of someone (different people and the last couple of years my sister) calling around restaurants..my wife mom, as we all call her, makes very sure this happens and also has to find and pray in funds for what are not donated...(in this ministry we do not have funds laying around everything has to be prayed in my FAITH believing ... Romans 1:17 "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith."
(KJV) James 2:18"Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works." (KJV) )
So does praying it in by FAITH just mean pray and the work's over? Nope you see you must step out in FAITH and do the work, move forward, like it is already there, and yes that is hard because rarely does the money come for everything till the last week and sometimes the night before! James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. SALVATION (FAITH) produces WORKS....WORKS do not produce SALVATION....
Mission Heat not working
Ok after all her preparation we meaning her and I are at the Mission church on Wednesday night..things are not normal the Mission churches heat unit has not been coming on, so we do not know if we will even have heat when arriving because the last several times when we arrived it was not working and I had to just mess with the Thermostat making the fan come on and fiddling around until the heat would finally come on...this is a very, very old unit well outdated that more than one service person has said " you need to really just replace it", ha what a joke we have to have my sister call around and ask various compoines to bless us with a service call and by HIS grace so far they have been able to well redneck it together and make it work!
This year the last place that did that said nope no more free stuff we have did so much, we did have money to pay just for a service call $89 to find what it was maybe but they could not or would not come for two weeks! WOW ok my sister get's on the phone and get's a company out, he is mart and explains the whole thing to me and finally says we need to replace the Thermostat and change the filter...
Ok I was then able to make it go and keep it running....thought Ok it's early I will go pick a thermostat up and replace as he showed me...my wife, mom was working the heat was on and there were others going to show up right?
So I put this on my list of things I needed to pick up and off I went being very positive! THEN....UGGGGGGGGGGG the traffic is so bad as it's off work time...included with that is last minute Thanksgiving Shoppers! Not to mention people already out looking for pre-black Friday deals!
To make it short it took awhile and no Thermostat....I head back to the church all the time I was out thinking that if something was happening I needed to know she would call....and she never did...
Well I find when I get back my wife running from the kitchen to the front room having several things going like "Cutting onions for dressing, tearing up bread for dressing, washing potatoes, making huge green bean casseroles, and so on and on and on...BY HER SELF! I then realize that we are on our own until my 21 year can show up at around 1 AM because he had to stay back at home (60 miles from Wichita) and pick his brother up from work!
Ok my wife says just jump in where you can, wow what an understatement, then I find she is not feeling well, she has everything out that is needed to do the work, but then she has a well attack kind of like and anxiety attack or a heart attack! (It was neither....) We try and get her relief like aspirins and Prayer ,,,see calms and it's bed, says she will get up later but hit's the bed!
Well now she is in bed....it's around what after 8 PM! She told me just do what you can and she says after a little while I will get up at 10 AM and finish it!
I was in shock, nope no way could all this be done before 3;30 PM the next day so I start working ...
70 pounds of potatoes cut up and cooked well 3 pans cooked one put in walk in
3 large green bean casseroles these were big enough it took two to feed about 150..more on that later ( she had cut up oions already and again laid everything out to be put together!)
Wow, I am a slob to start with so of course I made a huge mess! Onions all over, soup for the green bean casserole, dressing stuff, eggs, all over etc what I touched went all over! It was huge mess but somehow with my old hands I got it done about the time by son comes in about 1 PM saying he is not really feeling well but jumped in and helped make everything clean for my wife the morning which by then we figured she would be well and so on right?
The Next morning some help arrived cowboy Larry 77 and his wife 76 showed up and started buttering rolls and putting deserts in go plates, with my wife heating up arranging things etc...we had very nice 20 year old named Roberto show up from another ministry that had donated some cooked food!
Finally it seems everything will be OK right? We pray ...

Then Dinner is about to start I think my wife made one plate then her chest like locked up? Just like the night before she stubbornly has to go to bed and with much, much pain, she tell me get me up at 5 PM it's 4:35PM....
This leaves us to do the dinner...wow

Larry 77 Not in the greatest health and standing for him and I both and well as mom these very hard floors about murder our knees, backs, feet etc..generally it takes a day of recovery for all of us...

At 5PM the realization is mom is sick and cannot get up...naturally we had group prayer before we started and I am talking to the FATHER also off and on but my spirit is crying out all along.....
WOW my wife know how much to give to make the food go and not short anyone, so in this case as one thing is about to run out when to heat up the next pan etc....Thank the FATHER she has everything laid out..
On and On....
The FATHER must be holding up Larry and I because generally my hands lock up...I will not bore you with telling you about running low on turkey, making more deserts to go's, thawing Turkey, heating dressing, heating green bean casserole, making more gravy ...and so on and on...I do not UNDERESTAND HOW she does it she is really a super woman!
Started at 3:30PM we finish at 6:58 180 people a record, but it's not over my son and I have to clean up a huge mess ...that took us late like till 12 or after as I was worn out and had to drive my wife home.. Elijah drove the truck home..
Aftermath?
Well it's clear now that my wife is sick so there was no Friday like we normally did and would have had to cook more food for...my son Elijah was now coming down sick, I did not think I was just thought it was the floor making my body hurt...not chance...I got sick...
Flu I guess today we all feel better after a lot of Vitamin D and Ivermectin I had bought months ago, WE BADLY NEED MORE but I have no idea where to get more!
Today Monday we 3 are out of bed, feel pretty good feel it's over so we went and had dinner so mom did not have to cook!
Tomorrow we plan on opening and pray that this was not a false wellness.....
I do not understand how my wife does it, well, she is as I said a superwoman empowered by the FATHER, not wonder she says so many times "It's Like YESHUA with the fishes" even though she did not dish it out this feeding of 180 people would not have been done without her great work! A work done every year by her great FAITH! WOW! Pray for her!
She does not call it a work, she says it's blessing!
